Working with Status Reports

How do I create status reports for my group?

Navigate to the "Status Reports" tab and select "Create New Report" from the right-hand side Actions box.  You will be prompted to specify a date the report is due, as well as whether to create the report for you and your group, you only, or just your direct reports.  Simple Status will automatically copy existing status report items (that have not been removed) into the new reports, unless you check the "Create Empty Reports" box.

What does it mean to "promote" an item?

In many cases you may wish to include your direct reports' status items in your own report to your manager.  You can easily promote an item from your direct's status report to your own.  It will become a part of your report that you can change and edit without affecting the corresponding item in your direct's report.  For example, you may decide to edit out unnecessary detail.  A small indicator will show on your report that the item was promoted, and from whom.

What does it mean to "remove" an item?  Can I restore it?

Simple Status can help you monitor status report items from start to finish. Instead of simply having some status items "disappear" from one week to the next, you will see all the status items your direct deleted at the very bottom of the status report review screen, which allows you to see what items will no longer be tracked in the weeks to come.

Is there a way to automatically create status reports that will be due every week or month?

Not presently. Future updates are expected to include new enhancements like this.

Who can see my status reports?

Only your manager. The security is set up so that the only other person that can see your status report is your manager. Even users assigned the role "Super User" are not able to see your status reports unless they are also your manager.
